Back in the US again

February 25th, 2007

I landed safely back in LA this morning and I’m really tired. I can’t believe I have to go to work tomorrow. Even though I came back to ths US, my backpack is still in Japan. I left it on a train, but the station people found it and my girlfriend picked it up. That’s good news. Unfortunately, all of my pictures and stuff are in the backpack so I have to wait until K can send it back to me. Hopefully that will be soon.

Sorry, no updates

February 23rd, 2007

Sorry I haven’t been updating the blog. K and I have been busy going to a bunch of places and I haven’t been able to write anything. Today is my last day in Japan and we’re going to go back to Shinjuku and go to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office Building (東京都庁) because you can go up to the top of the buildling for free. It was rainy and cloudy yesterday but today it’s extremely windy and clear so we’re hoping that we can see a lot. In the mean time, here’s a picture of Mt. Fuji that I took from the Shinkansen.

In Osaka

February 16th, 2007

Today, K and I made our way safely to Osaka. We took the bullet train and it took about 3 hours. This time, I got a clear view of Mt. Fuji and I took some pictures.

The hotel in Osaka is pretty nice and it’s pretty close to a lot of the places we want to visit.

Anyway, it’s late right now and I’m kind of sleepy. I’ll write more tomorrow.

Company Tour

February 13th, 2007

I went on my tour yesterday and it was really interesting. I spoke a lot of Japanese so I was pretty tired by the end but I met a lot of nice people and learned quite a bit. I still need some time to kind of process everything but it was nice to learn, for example, when I send email to a certain address I now know where it goes and who will be looking at it.

Today, I’m going to meet K for lunch in 武蔵小金井 and then we’re going to head to 新宿 for some shopping.

Made it this time!

February 12th, 2007

I’m in Japan!! The flight was long and also kind of bumpy. Especially up around Alaska they had to turn on the seatbelt sign because it was pretty turbulant. Aside from that, I really liked flying on ANA; it’s 1000 times better than any of the US airlines I’ve flown on. Next time I go to Japan, I might pay the extra $200-$300 just to fly on JAL or ANA.

Anyway, today I have my tour and I’m going to start getting ready to leave for that.

I’ll post more stuff later!

We were just kidding

February 10th, 2007

My flight was canceled. Something was wrong with the cabin heating/cooling stuff. I’ve been rebooked onto an ANA flight tomorrow. I guess I have to try again tomorrow. This is my third flight to Japan that has been delayed, and the first one that’s been canceled.

At LAX

February 10th, 2007

I’m writing this from the Starbucks in the American Airlines terminal (thanks to my work for buying T-Mobile HotSpot logins and then kind of forgetting about them :) ). Anyway, I guess I got here a wee bit early, there was almost noone in line for tickets. It’s 10:15AM and boarding will start at 11:15AM. Another hour.

It’s actually pretty interesting. AA flight 170 which is from Tokyo to LA arrives at 10AM, then they refuel it, clean it, and turn it around and fly back to Tokyo at 11:55AM. That’s all this plane does. Tokyo -> LA -> Tokyo -> LA…

Anyway, I guess I’ll go walk around and look at the planes for a bit. My next post should be from Japan!
